The VISION for the AFRICAN MERIT HONOURS is to build the premier platform for honouring the best examples of youth excellence and setting them on a pedastal, such that the rest emulate the best and Africa redeems itself to it rightful place in the world as a birthplace for innovation, humanity and general excellence.
The MISSION of the AFRICAN MERIT HONOURS is to Empower, Embolden and Enable the next generation of youth who will take on the unprecedented work of attending to the modern demands of our societal development in ALL spheres of life.
FOCUSED ON IMPACT
This is not another political show, it is a serious event for serious Africans across the board, honouring both elders and the youth but entirely focused on the impact of all activities on the youth and their aspirations and hopes in Africa.
In October 2024, the convener paid a visit to the University of Nigeria Nsukka for a routine speaking engagement. That visit and the multiple interactions "incognito", with the students and faculty of the University left an indelible mark in his mind and a better understanding of the root cause of the decadence and growing malignance of the African population, in critical and independent development, beyond the nacent pursuits for daily bread.
In respect of his hero, Owelle Chief Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, a very reputable African and prime example of excellence in youth and in adult character, who was also the founder of the University, the event was initially envisioned as the Nnamdi Azikiwe Honours, however as it grew in broad support and in the avoidance of political interference and ill-intentioned attacks of the vision it was renamed and rebranded to better adapt to its role, as the pre-eminent honours for all Africans and African peoples.
In honour of Owelle Chief Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, for his legacy and inspiration it retains his image as the Seal of the Medal of Honours and has insisted on hosting the event on his Birthday.
UNITE: This first event is focused on showing unity and integrity by allowing a platform that welcomes all classes and submissions with the single common denominator being characteristic integrity and excellent presentation. All submissions will then be left to the vote by all partners and the general public.
DEFINE: These events will allow us, through natural acclimatization to better define the directions of the honours and the right mix of programming, including events, entertainment, awards etc.
REMEMBER: The most important aspect of this event is to refresh our minds on a time when African's dreamt of leading themselves, as a starting line to build a new generation that will dream of leading the world.

Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria
Date: Sun, November 16th 2025 (Main Event)

UNITE: The future events will continue to expand in scope to include more institutions, a wider range of speakers and participants and an effort to ensure greater reach to all nooks and crannies of Africa and the Diaspora.
MONUMENTAL: The events will be developed to be a defining event in the year, that is a reason to stop and reflect for all. Its awards, prices and recognitions must be the most prestigious prices in the world.
ENTHRONE: The net result of the existence of these Honours must be to enthrone excellence in the society and to restore the aspirations of our youth to a place of "impossible visions", toward pre-eminence in their fields on the global playing field, as Kings on the earth.
