SUMMARY OF EVENTS

Designed for Impact and Celebration!

The AFRICAN MERIT HONOURS is a genuine attempt to enthrone excellence in the African space once again by shining a spotlight on the best examples of our time, especially youth and empowering them for success.

It is a CELEBRATION and yet must remain a CEREBRAL format in respect of the nature of IMPACT it desires to make, as an inspiration for POSITIVE ambitions.

The events are designed to encompass GIFTS AND EMPOWERMENT for the youth among us who are worthy, PRESENTATIONS AND DIALOGUE by those who can teach us about history, now and the future and of course REFRESHMENTS AND ENTERTAINMENT because it is an BANQUET style celebration of our ROYAL seeds.

SPECIAL FEATURES

This event is designed to DISCOVER, PLATFORM AND COMMEND, our youth who have shown themselves to be cut from the best cloth, however, it must also be thoroughly ENTERTAINING, ENRICHING AND ENGAGING, in order to have the massive organic reach globally, that will make it effective as an inspiration for positive ambitions across Africa.

ALL entertainment will be by Young amateur performers, who are seasoned in their craft, all of whom will be paid for their performance, as a further insistence on reward for our youth who do the work to set themselves apart.

ENTERTAINING COMPETITIONS

Youth from all over Africa, who apply will be allowed to compete in an open poetry competition, which will be judged by the audience and CASH PRIZES awarded to the winners. Competitions will exist for Poetry, Debate, Literature and any entertaining presentations of ideas and ideals.,

MASTERCLASS SESSIONS

3 distinct masterclass sessions will happen on the 1st day (May 2nd 2025), allowing the leaders of the Social, Economic and Enterprise panels to have a direct interaction with youth who are channeled in each direction.

PANEL DISCUSSIONS

Separate panel discussions will occur on day one for each of the 3 distinct areas of the honours (Social, Economic and Governance), on the final day May 3rd 2025, a combined session will be held as part of the start of the main 4 hours, honours program.

KEYNOTE LECTURES

The Panelists will be given a distinct time slot to offer a Keynote Lecture on their own chosen topic of discussion. This will set the venue abuzz and make the events a seminal gathering for the formulation of ideas on the African Continent - A platform for open, uncensored engagement

GUEST OF HONOUR

PROF. UCHE AZIKIWE is our special guest of honour for the events of the 16th. She is a renowned Educationist and a proud member of the University of Nigeria Academia. She is also the Wife of Owelle Chief. Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and is the best fit for our Inaugural Honours.

AWARDS

We will be giving out a series of awards to ensure the empowerment of you in all CEREBRAL ENDEVOURS. We will also give out a special LEGACY AWARD to one of our elders who has shown exemplary leadership in their field and in the society.

ENTERTAINMENT

We wish to have a thorough celebration and the night will be capped by performances from Dancers, Musicians and other Performances of all types, all from select members of the Student Bodies of UNN, UNIZIK, MOU and more.

DANCE - DANCE - DANCE

When all is said and done, the D.J will take the night away and we wish to see a thorough and free celebration of the legacy of Owelle Chief. Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe expressed in youthful vibrance, as we all dance to close the night.
